Highly accomplished and strategic, Mwanza brings more than 19 years of leadership across Banking, Insurance, Mining, and the Public Sector. She has experience leading diverse tax teams at multinationals across sub-Saharan Africa, with Big 4 audit experience and strong insurance regulatory acumen.
Mwanza is passionate about integrating sustainability and ethical considerations into business decision-making and the management of corporate and public resources.
Mwanza's most recent role saw her lead the strategic planning and execution of the tax function across the SADC subsidiaries of Ecobank as Cluster Tax Advisor — SADC, gaining extensive international experience across DRC, Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia, and Zimbabwe over a decade-long tenure.
Prior to Ecobank, she served as an Insurance Analyst with the Pensions and Insurance Authority, where she developed exceptional negotiation and communication skills through mediating complex industry disputes. She began her career in the Tax Department at PricewaterhouseCoopers Zambia, where she spent over five years building a track record of helping businesses and individuals optimise their tax positions.
A key passion driving Mwanza's career is the integration of sustainability and ethical considerations into business decision-making. She currently serves as Chairperson of an Audit Committee at a government ministry, actively enhancing accountability of public resources to taxpayers and stakeholders.
